G1 – Minor Geomagnetic Storm Watch issued for November 7–9, 2026
A G1 – Minor Geomagnetic Storm Watch was issued by NOAA SWPC for November 7 through November 9, 2026. The Watch, released at 06:26 UTC on November 7, 2026, predicts Minor Geomagnetic Storm (G1) conditions for each of these three days. This supersedes any prior watches in effect.
Potential impacts are expected to occur primarily poleward of 60 degrees geomagnetic latitude. Weak power grid fluctuations may be observed, and minor impact on satellite operations is possible. Aurora may become visible at high latitudes, including the northern tier of the United States such as northern Michigan and Maine.
The forecasted geomagnetic storm activity is attributed to anticipated influence from a negative polarity coronal hole high speed stream (CH HSS), as described in the official forecast discussion. No Earth-directed coronal mass ejections were observed, and solar activity remains at low levels.
